NVAPA is very excited to share that for the 2023-24 year we won the following NPC Alumnae Panhellenic Awards!

Community Service/Philanthropy

  • Enhancement of the Alumnae Experience

  • College Panhellenic Connections

What is the Northern Virginia Alumnae Panhellenic Association and what do we do?

An Alumnae Panhellenic is a community-based organization, affiliated with the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), whose membership is composed of representative alumnae from NPC member organizations.

Alumnae Panhellenics exist to:
• Inform sorority women of current trends.
• Promote the sorority experience.
• Improve the Panhellenic image.
• Stimulate a continuing interest in Panhellenic involvement.

We promote intra-fraternity friendship and collaboration; publicizes the high ideals, purpose and accomplishments of the sorority system; stimulates the interest and participation of alumnae members of NPC sororities; supports the philanthropic endeavors of nearby college Panhellenics and furthers interest in community service, philanthropic efforts and higher education through educational programming and social activities.

NVAPA works to fundraise to provide scholarships to undergraduate, sorority women attending colleges and universities in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Additionally, NVAPA recognizes alumnae chapter members through Woman of Distinction Awards.

NVAPA meets monthly from September to May in locations throughout the Northern Virginia area.  We currently have representation from 23 of the 26 NPC member organizations!

What Are The Responsibilities of an NVAPA Delegate?

  • Each NPC group should select both voting and non-voting Delegates to represent their organization in NVAPA.  Delegates are expected to attend meetings and actively participate as officers, committee chairmen, or members of committees. If neither the delegate nor the non-voting are able to attend the monthly meeting, it is important that another representative of their chapter attend. These representatives are the “voice” of their sorority in the alumnae Panhellenic.

  • Each NPC group shall have the right to one vote regardless of how may alumnae chapters they have in the area. The groups much decide, and let the alumnae Panhellenic know, who will be the delegate and the one who would cast a vote on behalf of the National Panhellenic Conference member organization.

  • Each NPC group must pay annual dues of $50.00. These dues fund the operations of the alumnae Panhellenic which include dues to the National Panhellenic Conference.
